Congratulations to everyone involved this year, it has been an excellent year and we go again next season. We will come back next year fighting fit and stronger.
6th August = City of Newcastle 10- 4 South Moor. Bitterly disappointing evening away in Newcastle this evening sees south moor’s men comfortably beaten away from home this evening in the season finale. The result leaves the team agonisingly short of the promotion 😫😢 with both Heworth and Wearside gaining promotion to Division 1. Well done to both of these teams.
30 July 2019 – South Moor 14 – 0 = a result. What a win. The penultimate game saw a strong Whickham team blown away by a tenacious South Moor team as they stake their claim in the #RaceForPromotion. With one game left away from home @ City of Newcastle GC, the fight for promotion goes to the final game.
23 July 2019 – Wearside GC 9 – 5 South Moor = 5 battling points for south Moor this evening away from home leaves the race for promotion still wide open with 2 games remaining. Our next game is a crucial game at home vs. Local rivals Whickham GC.
Crook GC 8 – 6 South Moor = A strong Crook team took their chances this evening and overcame the challenge south Moor brought to them this evening. Another tough challenge lies in wait as next week the team travel to high flying Wearside In what looks like an massive game to see who win #Promotion.
9thJuly . South Moor 11 – 3 Hobson = An emphatic Local Derby win this evening puts the team back in contention for a Promotion Spot after South Moor’s men demolish a very strong Hobson team at home this evening. This puts the pressure back on the top of the table with some big results this evening meaning the top of the table becomes a bit tighter. The team next travel to Crook GC in search for another win.
2ndJuly – South Moor 6 – 8 Heworth – An excellent Heworth team took home the spoils winning 4 of tonight’s 7 games as they extend their position at the top of the table. Another close game goes down to the wire as 6 valuable points were secured for the moor this evening with Hobson GC the visitors next week in what will be another important game in the NDL Division 2 league as the season draws closer to the end.
25th June – Consett GC 11 – 3 South Moor = A very tough affair for the team tonight as Consett ran out worthy winners to inflict South Moors second defeat of the league season this evening. With 5 of the 7 matches going down to the last hole, the team must now brush themselves down and reignite their early season form as Heworth GC, the league leaders, come to the moor to do battle.
18th June = South Moor 10 – 4 City Of Newcastle. Another BIG win for South Moor to add to leader board as a strong City of Newcastle team were blown away by a promotion chasing South Moorside. Another mouth watering event next Tuesday as the team travel to local rivals Consett GC as they look to continue their excellent run of form.
11th June- Whickham 5 – 9 South Moor – Another fantastic night sees south moors men take the spoils away at Whickham GC to continue their impressive start to the season. The team are next in action to league newcomers City of Newcastle GC
South Moor 10 – 4 Wearside – What a result. The boys have done it again and made another emphatic win in abysmal conditions. Next up are Whickham GC next Tuesday.
28th May 2019 – South Moor 12 – 2 Crook GC
An empathic golfing display brushed aside a strong Unbeaten Crook GC team, blowing the promotion race wide open. This sets up another mouth watering tie next week as Wearside GC, the only unbeaten side left in the division after defeating Heworth GC tonight, become South Moor’s guests.
Hobson GC 5 – 9 South Moor GC
An emphatic local derby win sees south moor take the spoils from Hobson. Only days prior the team lost their County cup match away at our same opponents, but tonight South Moor take the win and the vital points home with them. The team are next up @ home next Tuesday 28th May against Crook. League to be posted once updated
Heworth GC 9 – 5 South Moor
A terrific effort from SMGC falls just short as Heworth GC over powered and take the victory from tonight’s game. A brave effort from the team who next travel to local rival Hobson GC in search for the first away victory of the year.
6th May 2019 – South Moor 10 – 4 Consett
In the first of many tough games to come in this seasons NDL division 2 league, South Moor got off to the best start possible with a 10-4 victory over local rivals Consett. A fantastic start to the season.
The team travel to Heworth GC next week as they aim to continue the great start to the season.
