My name is Steven McDonnell and I would like to introduce myself to everyone at South Moor Golf Club.
In March 2025 I will be taking over as Director of Golf to deliver the golf services at South Moor Golf Club. I am a PGA Advanced Coach with extensive knowledge and experience of golf. I have been delivering coaching and instruction for several years at a number of notable venues around the North East, and I look forward to bringing my unique coaching philosophy to the club.
I am proposing a 5 year plan to enhance all aspects of the golf club, including the introduction of a holistic pathway for golfers to participate in the wonderful game of golf. This will include coaching across all levels from beginners to elite players. We will offer programs for all golfers, from visiting the club for the 1st time, to offering established members bespoke packages to suit their golfing requirements.
The first phase will involve developing a new state of the art coaching facility with an indoor bay and putting studio, with Trackman simulator and elite coaching software (Golf Performance Centre – Opening March 2025). The 1st year will be about promoting, delivering and putting South Moor Golf Club back on the map again as one of the premier venues in the North East for golf. Over the 4 years that follow, we can focus on a number of areas of improvement at the golf club and tailor a golfing pathway that will excite the members.
I’m happy to organise an introduction night for the members to hear your thoughts about what you would like to see at South Moor regarding golf services.
