“Challenging but enjoyable golf course.”
Southmoor is one of those courses that is a little out of the way but always well worth a visit.
It is a course I had not played in a while so when the opportunity presented itself I jumped at the chance.
The course starts with a pleasant par 3 but does get more difficult as the round continues.
It is a very good challenge for any ability of golfer and has some beautiful views from certain parts of the course.
It is always in great condition and one of those clubs where you are always made to feel very welcome with no airs and graces.
It is one of those courses where if you keep to the fairway you can shoot a good score but stray from the fairway and the gorse or rough will gladly accept your ball.
It is a course that always keeps you interested as each and every hole offers up its own unique challenge and you will certainly not get bored playing this course and that is one of the things I like most about it.
It is in my opinion one of the better courses in the region and offers up a good challenge of golf to all abilities.
The welcome in the Professional Shop and the Clubhouse is always a warm one and nothing appears to be too much trouble.
The Clubhouse serves up some very good home made and wholesome food and well worth a try when you are here as you will not be disappointed.
The shop is very well stocked and there is always a bargain to be had and will always price match any other genuine like for like quotation.
All in all a very enjoyable visit and will not be leaving it too long before I return to this very good golf course.
“South Moor Golf Club.”
My first visit to this course. As many young children get support from parents & grandparents for the Srixon tour. It’s a great pleasure to say all staff & members had a very warm friendly welcome waiting for us. A very well stocked golf shop with a more than helpful staff member. Onto lunch the meal was more than enjoyable & served hot. In all a wonderful day
The Pro Shop is well stocked and offer competitive prices.
Golf Professionals Shaun and Mark will make sure you have great day.
I’ve played most of the courses in the north east and can say SouthMoor is a true test not the longest but tight and unforgiving, but the rewards are there to be had.
The staff are most helpful both in the clubhouse and around the course.
A large well stocked pro shop is attached to the clubhouse, and the new practice facilities are second to non in the area.
