Dress Code
The committee at South Moor Golf Club has agreed an enlightened attitude to the dress code requirements on the course and in the clubhouse. It is the responsibility of members and visitors to present themselves with attire and footwear, which is smart, clean and tidy and appropriate fro the circumstances.
Our aim is to provide a relaxing, casual atmosphere both members and visitors on the course and in the clubhouse.
Inevitably there will be occasions when even a relaxed dress code will be abused and we would therefore highlight that which is not broadly acceptable.
a) The overall standard we accept would be clothing that is accepted as traditional golfing apparel.
b) Shirts, in general, must be collared but collarless shirts marketed as golf wear would be acceptable. Shirts for men must have long or short sleeves. Ladies may be sleeveless.
c) Shorts must be tailored and worn with predominately white or coloured ankle socks matching the colour of the shorts. Knee length socks maybe any colour.
d) Denim jeans may be worn in the club house but NOT on the course. They must be clean and MUST NOT be ripped, torn, dyed or of a generally ‘raggy’ condition.
e) Training shoes will be allowed in the clubhouse but NOT on the course Shoes worn on the course MUST NOT be worn in the clubhouse outside of any designated spiked areas. For your safety and enjoyment we would strongly advise that any shoes worn on the course should be spiked at all times.
f) Vests tee-shirts, rugby and football shirts, tracksuits, shell suits and loose fitting shorts MAY NOT be worn at any time either on the course or in the clubhouse.
g) Hats MUST NOT be worn in the clubhouse.
Your co-operation in following these simple rules will avoid any potentially embarrassing confrontations with staff and members.
